Michael Tchong of Ubercool!

"I'm Going to Tweet You Up"

A captivating and internationally acclaimed speaker, Michael has shared his unique insights with groups ranging from Neutrogena to Shangri-La Hotels and Apple. His singular perspective has earned him recognition as a forward thinker of the information age. He has been quoted by, or appeared on, Access Hollywood, Adweek, Bloomberg TV, BusinessWeek, CNET, CNN, The New York Times, PBS, San Francisco Chronicle, The Independent (UK), Variety,The Wall Street Journal and Wired among other media outlets.

Michael’s latest venture, Ubercool®, is a natural extension of his trendwatching talent. The San Francisco-based next-generation Internet marketing company helps business and other executives create superior products and services that leverage changes in business, lifestyle and technology environments. Ubercool builds on Michael’s other trendwatching projects, including TrendShow™ a multitasking event that immerses attendees in the latest market trends and cool products, and his first research report, Trendscape 2004, which documents the most important trends shaping this decade. Prior to Ubercool, Michael founded five successful companies, starting with MacWEEK, which was acquired by Ziff-Davis in 1988. His vision of the Mac at the center of the graphic arts world propelled the weekly’s annual revenues to $18 million. In 1992, he established Atelier Systems, which focused on the nascent category of "personal communication" software.

Lucky Bucket!

Thanks to all who came out and joined us for our summer social at Lucky Bucket Brewery! Wow! Talk about a fascinating industry. Attendees toured the LaVista based facilities and got an extreme feel of what it would be like to work in a brewery. Although it was a hot tour, there were plenty of beers to cool us down. Owner and Brewmaster, Zac Triemert, spent time in Edinburgh, Scotland studying the craft of brewing and distillery. Lucky Bucket distributes three beers: The Original, The IPA and The Certified Evil throughout the Omaha, Kearney and Sioux City areas. In addition, they have put JOSS Vodka on the shelves of local grocery stores and have a dark rum and whiskey in the works to be out within the next year. The tour was great way to show support of a local business and enjoy each other’s company at the same time! Thanks again to those who joined us! We look forward to our next social event!
